Tani Lipi: A New Script from Arunachal Pradesh

A script called Tani Lipi was developed a few years ago by Tony Koyu for writing the Tani languages of Arunachal Pradesh:

Tani Lipi received support from the governor of Arunachal Pradesh in August 2010 (press release) and was endorsed by the Arunachal Tribal Union (AIPU) in January 2011.

However, there is some skepticism about the practicality of adopting a new script instead of using existing writing systems. Some concern has also been voiced about the intention of promoting Tani Lipi as an official script of Arunachal Pradesh or as a common script for all languages of the state.

I prepared a brief document that introduced Tani Lipi to the Unicode Technical Committee. A new proposal is currently being developed. Any information about the script is welcome.

  4. Introducing a common language for the common people of Arunachal Pradesh will start a new revolution called UNITY.I'm damn sure. Speaking the same language will arise the sense of oneness among the numerous inhabitants of the land and that will lead to peace, prosperity, development and integrity of the region as a whole.
Sir, I want you to thank you for all the efforts you have put together to come up with such an initiative.I really appreciate it. But I will worship you if you further research on it, minimise its setbacks and implement it in the schools for the future generations to come. This is a sincere request to the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh to support Tony Koyu and his team.

  5. hello sir,
I know you have considered all the possible facts and strategies that will lead to the growth of our state when we will have a common language to speak. What I want to say is (even though you know) that ,introducing a common language for the common people of Arunachal Pradesh will start a new era in the state that will culminate a sense of oneness among the numerous tribes that will consequently lead us to prosper in many new ways unconditionally. We will then develop and grow in every aspects of life in Unison. We will have ONE VOICE.
So this is my sincere request to the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh to support Tony Koyu and his team in every way possible.
Sir, I'm just a concerned citizen and would really like to hear from you.
    With respect
    Thank you
